Do you know how lucky we are?

Today when I was washing the dishes I turned around and saw Moses sitting by the front door with his face in a stream of sunlight. He smiled at me and I was just overcome with the realization of how completely fortunate we are to have him home right now. And of course of how much we just love this little man.

But we could easily be one of the couples that are still waiting. My thoughts and prayers are with Nicky and her husband right now who received their referral for two beautiful girls a day before us. That's right, October 23rd... and they are still waiting for court. Adoption is not for the faint of heart people. I am also aware of others who are with a different agency that has even longer waits than ours... Rana has waited 20 agonizing months for a referral.

But it is worth it. And I know they will say the same thing.

I'm a bad blogger.

To tell you the truth I'm not so sure about this blogging thing anymore. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to follow along with all of your stories but I just am so lazy when it comes to my own. I'm also really busy chasing after moses who is now moving along all of the furniture and has started to even let go and stand for a few seconds at a time. Let's just say he is busy. If you open the fridge he is suddenly in it grabbing things. If you open the front door, he's out of the house.

Uploading photos seems like too much work. In fact, filling out name change forms, getting documents notarized and completing his citizenship also seems like WAY too much work! I started this blog to track the adoption process and be an advocate for adoption. I just feel like I may bore you with photos now..... Hm.... what to do. Part of me is thinking of stopping until adoption number two but maybe you guys want pictures???

Okay, okay... I'll leave you with a few : )

This is from mother's day.

All eyes on baby.

Discovering the toilet paper roll.

Fun times in the backyard!

Honestly, I think my other issue is that I can't express in words this whole experience of being a mom. Of how much I love him and of how completely and utterly exhausting and difficult it is taking care of him! Maybe if he slept more than 2 hours straight consistently I would be more motivated to post!

Okay, here's two more from his first time at the water park.

Pictures from Run for Water

This years Run for Water was a huge success. The race raised over $82,000 to go towards building wells in Ethiopia. Amazing!

It was so nice to have friends and family out to support such a great cause. I know they probably were wanting to support this race on their own and what it stands for but it feels so personal to me! Like they came for me and Moses and I should say thank you!!! Ethiopia is so close to my heart that a race like this makes me emotional. Now that we've been there, now that we've seen what we've seen..... I don't even know what to say really. Does this make any sense? I'll stop rambling...

Anyways, I also felt emotional as I remembered the agony of waiting for a referral last year and now getting to push my moses in his stroller.... was... well, very rewarding. I also got to meet Kallie for the first time! She is GORGEOUS! Not sure if I'm allowed to post pictures though... just trust me. She was putting the moves on Moses big time.

Here are some pictures of the day:

Jill and Derek

My Dad and his girlfriend Jackie came all the way out from Ontario! My dad ran the half marathon and Jackie came first in her age group for the 5k race. Way to go guys!!!
